Throughout the past year, the world experienced numerous expected increases, and a great deal of additional downfalls. Some may say that markets have introduced an array of new changes to their security trading systems for this reason. Thus, the Xetra trading system has captured my attention lately, especially with its extension for a newer version on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Xetra, the Deutsche Börse trading system, is synonymous with efficiency flexibility. This flexibility allows the user to both perform a number of actions almost simultaneously and keep an eye on one’s bids at several positions.  Launched in 1997 on DAX, the system allows the trader to watch over his or her bid position in numerous places at once.

Xetra has expanded to several markets in recent years.  These markets include Ireland, Belgium and Finland, along with additional stock exchanges. TASE, in contrast, has not delivered any technological advancement to the market since 2006 when they launched the current TASE webpage.  The trading system continues to produce a 30 second delay, which we all know stands for a big and very serious differentiation, especially in the derivative market.

Similarly, the Israeli market has not brought any new features to its trading system throughout past years.  And, after the German adaptation of the SunGard’s Front Arena, maybe it is only me, but I think it is about time! The system helps a range of businesses manage their risk and trading collectively. Israel, a hub for global innovation, has yet to develop its own stock exchange.
